RHEINMAGNET at viscom 2008
RHEINMAGNET was present at viscom 2008 in Frankfurt for the first time as an exhibitor under the slogan, “We do it magnetically”.
The RHEINMAGNET stand was a real magnet for visitors. The team caught the imagination of the specialist audience with their well-honed presentation and their wide range of products and expert sales advice. Both long-term customers and many interested visitors from all over Europe were impressed with the almost unlimited range of applications for the various magnetic products – in both the advertising and POS fields.
Discussions frequently centred on the topic of digitally printed magnetic films. RHEINMAGNET has already carried out various tests on the possibilities offered by this printing process to our usual high standard of quality and the results are very promising. Our insightful discussions with experts and their many helpful suggestions will help contribute to its successful implementation.
viscom 2008 was therefore a complete success for both visitors and RHEINMAGNET and a presence at the next viscom is already a firm date in our diary.
Innovation with PERMAFLEX magnetic foils ®
Until now, magnetic foil was only available in standard widths of up to 1,000 mm. Now, RHEINMAGNET is the first supplier to supply quality
PERMAFLEX 5014 magnetic foils with a white-coated surface and a width of 1,010 mm. The material is already available in stock in thicknesses of 0.85 and 0.6 mm.
Clients from the printing and marketing industries have been particularly enthusiastic in their reception of this new development. Until now, it hadn't been possible to manufacture advertising signs with precise dimensions of 1m x 1m, as the foils had to be trimmed after being printed or laminated. A few millimetres are always lost in the process.
The new foil width means that making optimum use of the material is no longer a prob-lem. Requests for even wider foils (up to max. 1,200 mm) can be met if required. RHEINMAGNET is also considering gradually adapting the uncoated foils to the new di-mensions as well.
Magnetic foils are produced on calenders, sets of several polished and heated steel rolls placed one above the other with crevices between them, through which a melt is passed. The use of these devices usually demands that there be a extremely finely adjustable dis-tance between the rolls, that the width of the products be as wide as possible, and that the rolls exhibit as little mass as possible but be able to resist large amounts of pressure.
Once the sheet has been passed through the calender, it is trimmed on both sides. This determines the maximum width of the foils, which, until now, had been 1,000 mm. We've now put a stop to that.
Now, if you're thinking that you're going to have to pay well for this competitive advan-tage, you're wrong. The prices are just as low as they've always been.

The material is mostly used for vehicle signs, but also for innovative presentation appliance within the marketing field and many other business areas.
Markets and customer requirements are subject to change, technical progress advances rapidly, changes to competition conditions created by an increasing number of competitors inland and abroad, have also forced RHEINMAGNET GMBH to find answers.
